How I Started Modeling
From a very young age, I always loved getting my photo taken. I loved picture day, family photos, and any other excuse to strike a pose in front of the camera.
As a teenager, I was invited to tropical getaways with my friend’s families. My friend and I would take her mom’s expensive camera and take photos of each other for hours. This is when I began to realize I had some raw talent. These were nothing more than photos I flaunted on Instagram at the time but soon it got me some recognition from photographers. When photographers began reaching out to me to ask to set up a photoshoot I would be thrilled. I was still so new to this world so I felt like I had gotten my foot in the door, even if it was just locally.
Next, I moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend college but ended up making somewhat of a name for myself in this small city. I agreed to do almost every photoshoot opportunity that came my way. I met so many creative and talented people who helped me better my craft.
There was a certain point, about 3 years into modeling, where I realized that this is what I was good at and this is what I enjoy doing. I find modeling a creative outlet for myself. Getting to meet people and get better with every photoshoot was just an awesome bonus!
