The Task

Create an original business idea complete with financial and marketing elements.

The Process

This semester-long group project was made possible through a lot of teamwork. We began with idea generation which consisted of us throwing out ideas and picking the best ones. We decided to go through with an idea for a rental service that caters to vintage pieces. Then, we conducted research about the fashion rental industry! We also considered our brick-and-mortar and e-commerce competitors. It is helpful to view competitors in the industry so that as a brand we are able to differentiate ourselves.

This was a detail-oriented project that was reflected in things like our storefront, advertising, and planned expenses. These elements all took a lot of research, planning, and discussion among my teammates. We had to think through every aspect of our business plan to create a cohesive presentation to keep our audience engaged and ultimately want to “invest” in it!

The Outcome

Again, another positive outcome! My team and I fully realized how rewarding it is to see an idea come to life through hard work. We created a final presentation that was shown to industry professionals and a package that had all of the elements of our project.
